Good Earth Farm is located in New York's spectacular Genesee Valley horse country. In this area of Western New York State, thirty miles south of Rochester, numerous horsemen own or raise purebred and halfbred Connemara ponies and horses hardy enough for the difficult winters and handy enough to take top honors at the many equestrian events offered throughout the region. Others can be seen hunting regularly with the Genesee Valley Hunt along the banks of the Genesee River.

Bob and Sarah Booher began breeding Connemaras and Connemara/Thoroughbred crossbreds on Good Earth Farm in Livonia, NY in 1992. In 2002 we relocated and continue breeding on sixty acres of rolling hills in the town of West Sparta, NY. We are easily accessible via Interstate 390 at Exit 6.

Our specialty is SUHs (Sport Utility Horses) including purebred Connemara ponies and larger half thoroughbred Connemara horses. With our brood mares we select for athleticism, balance and a kind and willing attitude. Since we do not stand a stallion we select from the many fine Connemara stallions standing at other farms across the U.S. including nearby Hideaway Farm's Erin Go Bragh.

We are a small farm and we enjoy raising our own foals. We emphasize ground manners and restraint in early training to ensure that our young horses are not stressed before their frames are mature. Currently our sales list has three mature homebred ponies and horses that are ready immediately for competition, pleasure riding or further training under saddle. You could not do better than to pick a lifetime equine partner from Good Earth Farm.

Brood Mares

Founding broodmare: Go And Buy, 16.1 hands born 1980, is a quiet and regal stakes winning thoroughbred with a foal at foot by Claddagh Connemara's Greystone An Lauren. Her eight previous half Connemara get by Hideaway's Erin Go Bragh, Greystone Sir Charles and Aladdin's Denver have ranged from 16 to 17 hands with exceptional conformation, jumping ability and attitude. Go And Buy, now 23 will retire after weaning her current foal. We have saved her only filly, Good Earth Morning Star by Greystone Sir Charles as our new broodmare for crossbreds.

Connemara broodmare: Bonnhenry Sandpiper born 1990, by all-Ireland jumping champion Grange Finn Sparrow out of Thornhill Shanachie, is a 14 hand dun who has successfully jumped, fox hunted and evented. Her third foal, a dun colt by Hideaway's Erin Go Bragh was born July 4, 2003. Sandpiper is an ACPS inspected and approved mare. Her 1999 offspring, Good Earth Summer Sunshine is described below in our current sales list.
