REGION V REPORT TO THE BOARD 2005

We have enjoyed a good year, thanks to the wonderful people in Region V. Our Newsletter, edited by Pat Reichle and Janice Meyer, is now sent by e-mail and includes lots of news wonderful photos. We are lucky to have activities scheduled in three different states in the Region. In January we visited Tamme and Harvey Roberts farm in Pendleton, Kentucky during a break in the USEF Annual Meeting. In April we enjoyed a Spring Fling at Mary Yeager’s farm in Mantua Ohio. We have some wonderful interesting and interested new members. Now we are looking forward to our Show on Halloween at the Hoosier Horse Park, Edinberg, Indiana. This year the Show Committee has decided to hold a Connemara and Open Show in hopes of getting more entries in a non-Inspection year. And to include some new classes: Combined Tests at two levels, and Obedience, a simple walk trot course for novice riders and green ponies.We are excited that Chris Knox will be our In-hand and Performance judge, and has offered to do a Clinic on Sunday morning.

After serving four years as Region Chair, I am hoping to retire after our Annual Meeting in October. Our growing Region is ready for some new leadership with new ideas and I need more time for my work, the Awards program and our big family.. Pat Reichle , is Chair of our Nomination Committee, working with Kathy Sparks.
