Eatonton, GA: Rai Pullen sent the following update. “Caraway Charlotte, aka Lottie, (Maplehurst Michael MacDaire x *Wensum Plum) and her rider, Grace Bridges, participated in a halloween parade. Both Lottie and Grace were Hawaiian Hula Dancers. Grace has been riding Lottie ever since Lottie weaned her filly, Castlewood Clare, by Wildwych Eclipse. Grace and Lottie have placed reserve champion or champion at every show they have attended and are currently second in their division for year end points. They just barely missed first place but since Lottie was still nursing Clare they had to miss the first 2 shows of the season. We are VERY proud of Grace and Lottie and look forward to a fun show season in the spring.”

Taylorsville, NC: Sue Holland’s grandkids have a new pony to love. Tullymor’s Shandora (Fieldstream Riley X Twinkle Too) has gone to live with Sue at her Hollymead Farm where she will join Elphin Chickadee (Maplehurst Michael MacDaire X Scottsway Lullaby) and Gately’s Red Robin (Balius Rydspence X Gralyn’s Gypsy Rover).

Charlotte, NC: Kathy Nebel has purchased a new Dundee to join her old Dundee. Balmullo’s Dundee (Concord River Roaringwater Bay X Oakfield’s Sweet Ashley [by Camus John’s Gladiator]) has gone to live with Kathy and Tuckaseegee’s Dundee (Foothill’s Waterman X Kid Sister [by Balmullo’s Same as Gold]). The new Dundee is called Gaetyr. Besides having the same name, another odd coincidence is that Gaetyr’s sire is Dundee’s paternal grandsire.

County Galway, Ireland: Karen Vicencio, still enjoying Ireland since abandoning the US several years ago, has sent the following regarding her latest adventures with her expat pony, Brannigan. Karen says, “Brannigan and I participated in the Moycullen Riding Centre Charity trek, to raise money for breast cancer research. We had about sixty ridden horses (many of them Connemaras) and four carriages (three pulled by Connemaras). Brannigan pulled a marathon vehicle, which has a large step on the back. Three of the kids rode on that backstep, which allowed them to quickly jump off, take money that was being handed out of car windows to us, then run, catch up, and jump back on. Brannigan, being the old hand that he is, had no problem dealing with kids running past him, cars honking their horns only feet from him, other horses cantering by... The kids managed to raise over 300 euro just from passing cars, and the entire trek brought in over 15,000 euro. A fun day, for a great cause!”

Brisbane, Australia: While we are just hunkering down for the winter, it is foaling season in Australia. Sue Clark reports that she has already had four! Pictured is Glenormiston Rosslea’s (Oxenholm Gideon X Millfield Seaspray) filly foal by Castle Baron (Abbeyleix Owen X Castle Dame). Glenormiston Scarteen (Oxenholm Gideon X Tulira Fuschia) is still waiting!! She is pictured with Sue and her granddaughter.

Bremen, Germany: May Reimann and husband Holger of Hohnhorst Stud in Germany visited the Dundee Stud in France while on vacation in September and sent some beautiful photos. The Dundee Stud is owned by Benoit and Dominique Lecuyer. Their stallion, Grange Surf Sparrow (Grange Bobbing Sparrow X Kilkerrin Surf [by Thunderbolt]) won the Supreme Championship at the French National Show in Poitiers last year.
