Week of 12-16-07
Do you have news about your Connemara that you would like to share with other ACPS members? News from all over the world is welcome. Email Donna Duckworth with the details and any photos to connemaras@windstream.net. Show results, results of inspections, new foals or unusual adventures especially welcome! The sire and dam of any ponies should be included. Please note that any professional photos must be accompanied by a photographer's release before they can be used.
 Upperville, Va: Blue Ridge Breckinridge, age 2, and Blue Ridge Lightfoot Lee, age 6 months, both dun geldings by Moxley Duncan x *Hayselden Persephone, have left Blue Ridge Farm for new homes with 1. Cynthia and Brian Holbrooke and 2. Elin and Roger Call, from outside Winston-Salem, NC.
Cynthia and Elin had come to see Duncan a few weeks ago to breed their mares to, and decided the way to guarantee getting dun offspring was to buy them!

 Colville, WA: Kelsie Stalhi sent this remembrance of Appleberry Acres Gabriel (Foxglove Malarkey X Kilkerrin Rebel Lass) who passed away in 2007. The photo is of a day when Kelsie’s friend who had not been on a horse in 17 years came to visit. She had her two daughters with her who had NEVER been on a horse. All three rode Gabby that day with her foal, JFL Tawnymara, following. Kelsie said that she had never seen such big smiles as the three carried for the rest of the day!!

 Brown’s Valley, CA: Wildwych Eclipse (*Glenormiston Flurry Knox (AUS) x Wildwych Dreamtime) owned by the Gerdes Family of Redbud Ranch in Northern California was recently awarded full licensing with the German Oldenburg Verbrand-WESER EMS (German Riding Pony). The four year old stallion is the youngest American Purebred Connemara Pony Stallion ever to be awarded lifetime licensing based solely on his physical inspection and successful completion of the 2007 Performance Test for Pony Stallions. Worldwide there are only a handful of Connemaras Stallions to be selected by the German Riding Pony Verbrand. With all of Eclipse's approvals firmly in place the Gerdes’ are very much looking forward to the arrival of their 2008 Purebred Connemara foal sired by Eclipse and out of their Premium Imported Mare *Glenormiston Amelia (Domo Cavallo Praize x Glenormiston Clementine). |
 New Haven, Mo: Wendover Farm is proud to announce that their 2007 black bay filly, HMF Irish Delight ( Hilken's Black Delight X HMF Wild Irish Rose [ X Greystone Adirondack A'Herne] ) has been awarded PREMIUM status with the German Riding Pony Registry Oldenburg Weser EMS. Delights dam, HMF Wild Irish Rose is approved Weser EMS and her sire Greystone Adirondack A’Herne is also approved Weser EMS as well as being an approved Connemara Pony Stallion with the ACPS.  High Springs, Fl: Two Connemaras participated in the High Springs Christmas parade on Dec 8. The theme of the parade was “Water is in Our Environment” (referring to the many Springs that surround High Springs) so pony owners Stephanie Davis and Barbara Beckford dressed as mermaids, with ponies Balmullo’s Anemone (CR Roaringwater Bay X TB) and Balmullo’s Swamp Fox (Seven Hills Grey Ghost X Ballywhim Candace) as oceans. |
