Eatonton, GA: Rai Pullen of Castlewood Connemaras sends this news. “Caraway Charlotte (Maplehurst Michael MacDaire X *Wensum Plum) had a fantastic showing at the 2010 USEF Pony Finals in Lexington, KY. There were 65 ponies showing in the Green Medium Pony division and Lottie walked away with 11th place overall! Lottie placed 11th in the model, 9th in the hack and 15th over fence--lovely consistent scores. She was ridden by Grace Bridges. This was the first time at the Pony Finals for both Lottie and Grace and we couldn't be more proud of their accomplishment. Both pony and rider showed nerves of steel against the other ponies and riders who have been on the A circuit for the entire season or longer. 2010 was the first year that Grace and Lottie tried their luck on the A circuit and they only have about six A shows under their belt. I think considering their lack of experience they did very well! Lottie and Grace are also currently first place in their division for two different local h/j circuits and were the performance champions at the Region IV show in June. In addition, Lottie was made a Premium Mare at her ACPS Inspection this year. Busy and successful year! Go pony!”

Julie (left) and Kaitlyn

Loveland, CO: Julie Keahy writes that Kaitlyn Bustos riding *Coral Misty Ciara (Coral Misty's Girl X Murvey Ross) and Julie Keahey riding Ceili Mosi oa Tunya (Coral Misty Ciara X Irish Park's Caraway Finn) enjoyed the Jump Start Eventing Schooling Show last weekend. Mosi was fifth in only his second cross country outing. Kaitlyn leases Ciara from Julie and she and Ciara have qualified for the Pony Club Regional Dressage Championships.

Colville, WA: Kelsie Staeheli of Jolly Fir line Farm reports that JFL Tawnymara ( Wildwych Strider X Appleberry Acres Gabriel) is now back at Jolley Fir Line Farms. She is pictured with her new colt (name pending, TBF Tugann Ta'bhacht) by Skyview's Orion (Cushtasha’s Cashel Rock X Skyview’s Lady Rigel), Premium Stallion. Kelsie says, “I am very happy to have Strider and Gabby's daughter back, keeping the breeding that I loved from ponies that are/were wonderful. Sadly, Appleberry Acres Gabriel (Foxglove Malarkey x Kilkerrin's Rebel Lass) was lost to Cushing in 2007.”

Saskatoon, SK, Canada: Elsie Priddy writes that Rills Carrick Fergus with Rebecca David McIsaac up won the Jr. Open Novice C at the Event at Rebecca Farm in Montana. A few pictures of Fergus can be seen on Elsie’s website. http://elodon.sasktelwebsite.net/

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia: Sue Clark of Glenormiston Farm reports that their Irish colt, Gneevebrack Storm (Monaghanstown Prince X Gneevebrack Belle [by Laerkens Cascade Dawn]), recently had his Australian show debut at the Queensland Royal show. Sue says, “The judge was Irish but unfortunately the number of ponies was low ( a sign of the economic times I fear). Storm was extremely well behaved despite a runaway Shetland in harness almost crashing into him twice. He won the Connemara stallion class and was Supreme Champion Connemara Pony. Although Storm is only two he had to compete in the stallion class as he is officially three in the southern hemisphere from the 1st August!”
